We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our Oak Ridge, TN office.
As an Electrical Engineer in the Oak Ridge office, you will perform a variety of electrical engineering design and construction support functions. This includes survey/assess existing facility, scoping and estimating level of engineering effort; field work to assess existing conditions; report writing; conceptual design; design development of drawings, specifications, and calculation analyses; and assistance with cost estimating. For construction support, the following activities are required: dispositioning NCRs, performing assessments on existing design, responding to RFIs, issuing Design Change Notices (DCNs). Duties also include coordination with Quality on inspections and supporting development of Scopes of work for electrical subcontracts; and services during bidding and construction, including answering requests for information, bid review, shop drawing review, site visits during construction, commissioning support, hosting progress meetings, and project closeout. The work location for this position is in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Qualifications:
  • BS-Electrical Engineering from an ABET-certified institution and
  • FE License
  • Three (3) or more years of electrical engineering design experience
  • Construction support experience for Title 3 activities
  • Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
  • Short Circuit Analysis experience
  • Some knowledge of the NEC
  • Experience working in groups of engineers and designers on projects
  • Experience of leading technical discussions with clients
  • Ability to author proposals and Statements of work is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PE License
  • DOE experience desired
  • NQA-1 experience desired
  • Arc Flash Analysis experience
  • Familiarity with Instrumentation & Controls interface
  • Knowledge of electrical systems is required, including power system design, load centers, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design and equipment selection
  • Ability to produce sizing calculations and other analyses/reports is desired.
  • Experience in providing construction support or services during construction is desired.

Work Location:
It is preferred this position be worked full-time in Oak Ridge, TN. There is an option for remote/hybrid work. For people within 50 miles of the Oak Ridge, TN or Denver, CO offices, a hybrid option requiring a person to be in office a minimum of 2 days per week is available. For people outside of 50 miles, a remote option with some travel to the Oak Ridge, TN office is available. For hybrid and remote work, you are required to provide and work in a secured location as approved by the company within the United States due to the projects that you will be participating in.
Essential Functions:
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
Other Essential Functions:
U.S. Citizenship required. Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard on the employee or others. Must take and pass a pre-employment drug, background check and site security badge screening.
Compensation Details:
$90,000-$160,000
