Role Summary
A Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer position responsible for managing and optimizing enterprise-level virtual data centers and related systems. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available server environments, as well as performing advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, project leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and security.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimize virtual data center environments, including performance monitoring, software updates, and system tuning.
  • Manage server operating systems, virtualization platforms (notably VMware suite), databases, and hardware components within the virtual infrastructure.
  • Develop and execute system implementation plans, scripts, and testing protocols to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Design, implement, and test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures; perform disaster recovery simulations.
  • Document system configurations, upgrades, and recovery procedures to maintain accurate records and support ongoing maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to workstations, peripherals, and virtualized systems at a third-level support level.
  • Follow change management processes for deploying system updates and maintenance activities to ensure operational stability.
  • Provide technical training and mentoring to junior staff on system hardware, software, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and management to recommend system improvements and participate in organizational IT initiatives.
  • Conduct research on new systems, solutions, and proof-of-concept testing to support technological advancement and improved service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in IT systems administration, with a focus on enterprise systems within virtual environments.
  • Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies, including vCenter Server management, and experience with host hardware maintenance.
  • Proficiency in managing Microsoft Server OS, SQL database administration, and enterprise software such as Microsoft Operations Manager, Exchange, and Citrix.
  • Familiarity with network security, disaster recovery, and business continuity best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field; industry-standard certifications such as VCP6-DCV, MCSE, CASP, or CCA-V are preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff in technical skills and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Availability to work on a hybrid schedule, combining remote work with in-office responsibilities.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Publishing Pay Range: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 Annually

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
