Position Summary:
The Seafood Specialist is responsible for driving revenue, line-item penetration, and gross profit growth across an assigned territory spanning Southwest Florida (North Tampa down through Naples). Acting as the premier seafood subject matter expert in the region, this role works directly with broadline DSRs, culinary operators, and retail buyers to position our fresh and frozen seafood portfolios-including wild-caught, aquaculture, and value-added product lines.
This is a field-heavy, highly consultative sales position requiring regional road travel to conduct live product demonstrations, manage account portfolios, and optimize customer margins. Periodic travel to our corporate headquarters in Hollywood, FL for sales alignment, strategy sessions, and vendor reviews is required
Position Responsibilities:
  • Territory Revenue & Margin Growth: Drive profitable sales growth across assigned accounts by increasing line-item penetration, boosting gross profit dollars per drop, and aggressively opening new foodservice and retail accounts.
  • Seafood Category Expertise: Conduct high-impact product presentations, cuttings, and culinary consultations highlighting key value pillars: product origin, wild-caught vs. farmed attributes, chemical-free standards, and strict cold-chain integrity.
  • Sales Force Partnership: Collaborate directly with regional Sales Managers and broadline Sales Representatives (DSRs) to identify target accounts, develop menu placement strategies, and execute weekly "Fresh Seafood Specials."
  • Account & Portfolio Management: Maintain customized order guides, manage contract pricing within company guidelines, monitor accounts receivable, and oversee order integrity to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Field Execution & Coverage: Execute consistent route coverage across the North Tampa to Naples corridor, providing hands-on support for high-volume seafood accounts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

•Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
•Industry Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of direct sales experience within the fresh and/or frozen seafood industry (broadline foodservice, broker, or specialized seafood distribution).
•Seafood Subject Matter Knowledge: Proven understanding of key commercial finfish/shellfish species, market seasonality, yield expectations, and cold-chain/HACCP basics.
•Mobility: Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record; ability to travel extensively throughout Southwest Florida (North Tampa to Naples) and travel periodically to the home office in Hollywood, FL.

Preferred qualifications:

•Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Culinary Arts, or Business Administration.
•Experience: 3-5+ years of active field sales experience selling fresh/frozen seafood to commercial foodservice, independent restaurants, and retail buyers across the Florida market.
•Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with seafood portioning, value-added skin packs, and sustainability certifications (BAP, ASC, MSC).
