Title: Network Performance Analyst
Duration: Contract to FTE Hire Opportunity
Location: Hybrid – Hartford, CT Area (Preferred)
Pay Rate Range: $50.00-$55.00/hour
 
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Performance Analyst with deep expertise in packet-level traffic analysis and network performance diagnostics. If you live and breathe packet captures, know Wireshark inside and out, and can dissect complex performance issues across distributed networks, we want to hear from you.
You will join a team focused on maintaining optimal network performance across critical infrastructure, using industry-leading tools like Riverbed ARX, NIKSUN, and Gigamon. Your daily work will directly impact the reliability, visibility, and security of enterprise network operations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced packet analysis and deep-dive troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, NIKSUN, and Riverbed ARX.
- Leverage Gigamon TAPs and visibility infrastructure to monitor and analyze traffic.
- Proactively identify and resolve latency, throughput, and performance anomalies across network segments.
- Collaborate with network engineering, security, and application teams to provide root cause analysis and performance improvement recommendations.
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards, metrics, and documentation of findings.
 
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network performance monitoring and packet-level analysis.
- Expert-level knowledge of Wireshark with demonstrated ability to interpret protocol flows and anomalies.
- Experience using one or more of the following: Riverbed ARX, NIKSUN, Gigamon infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP/S, VoIP, etc.).
- Ability to interpret and correlate data across multiple tools and data sources.
