Job description

Location: Phoenix, AZ Salary: $110,000.00 USD Annually - $120,000.00 USD Annually Description:
We are seeking a Network Operations Engineer II to support and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable network environments across data centers and distributed systems. This role is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancing enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPNs, and cloud-connected environments.
You'll play a key role in ensuring network performance, security, and reliability while working in a regulated environment supporting multiple locations and external clients.
What You'll Do
  • Maintain and support secure, highly available network environments across data centers and distributed systems
  • Design and implement secure network solutions using technologies such as Cisco IOS, VMware (NSX), Palo Alto Firewalls, load balancers, wireless access points, and SD-WAN
  • Monitor network performance and proactively analyze, troubleshoot, and remediate issues impacting availability, security, and performance
  • Support multi-carrier WAN infrastructure connecting 50+ branch locations and external clients nationwide
  • Implement and manage VPN connectivity for internal users, vendors, and client environments
  • Partner with internal teams, vendors, and clients to support network deployments and ongoing connectivity needs
  • Apply advanced networking protocols to drive scalable and efficient network solutions
  • Implement and maintain network security controls to protect systems, data, and infrastructure
  • Support disaster recovery planning and execution for network systems
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in Network Operations, Network Engineering, or Data Center environments
  • 4+ years of experience managing Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., SOX, PCI, SSAE, NCUA, FDIC)
  • Strong expertise in routing and switching protocols within highly available environments
  • Hands-on experience with VMware NSX or software-defined networking (SDN)
  • Experience building and enforcing network security policies
  • Proficiency with network troubleshooting and monitoring tools such as Wireshark, Panorama, and vRealize Network Insight
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with server administration, security administration, and cloud technologies
  • Exposure to emerging networking technologies, including SDN and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Experience supporting VPN environments and distributed client connectivity
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
    • Equivalent experience will also be considered
Certifications
  • Required:
    • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
  • Preferred:
    • Cisco VoIP or other relevant technical certifications
    • Palo Alto PCNSA
