Job description

Position Title: Ground C2 Systems Analyst

Location: Camp Pendleton, CA

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000

Security Clearance Requirement: Position requires active security clearance

Certification Requirements:

Years of Experience: 3 - 5 years

Roles and Responsibilities:

Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) responsible for supporting the establishment, configuring, operating, and troubleshooting a robust, integrated data-sharing network for the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) and other Department of War (DoW) agencies through the synergistic application of COTS, GOTS, and Program of Record (POR) hardware and software. This involves providing storage, virtualization capabilities, and C4I systems integration support via both on-site and remote efforts, while also collaborating cross-functionally with internal departments and personnel at Government Customer sites to deliver comprehensive Command and Control (C2) capabilities and enhance situational awareness, decision-making, and operational effectiveness. This position is responsible for integrating a wide variety of C2 systems including but not limited to Command-and-Control Personal Computer (C2PC), Joint Tactical COP Workstation (JTCW), Tactical Service Orientated Architecture (TSOA), Data Dissemination Service (DDS), Marine Corps Common Handheld (MCH), and Tactical Assault Kit (TAK). These support efforts are provided to military units while deployed, in garrison, in preparation for, and while participating in major exercises and contingency operations. Position will be required to travel at the Government Customer’s request. Travel is expected up to 25%.

  • Provide executive-level C2 technical advice and support Battle Staffs with the identification of information flow required to support Mission Essential Tasks (MET) in the identification of the configuration and integration of C2 systems.
  • Provide technical C2 guidance to assist operators and maintainers to configure, integrate, operate, and troubleshoot C2 systems.
  • Working knowledge of the administration and troubleshooting of Cisco routing and switching, to include concepts and protocols such as LAN, WAN, EIRGP, RIP, and DMVPN. Knowledge in Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM), Cisco Call Manager Express (CME), Unity Connection (CUC), and IM & Presence Service (CIMP) are also desired.
  • Working knowledge of the administration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Exchange, Windows Deployment Service (WDS), Active Directory, domain replication, SharePoint, Windows Firewalls, and SQL.
  • Working knowledge of the administration and troubleshooting of NetApp filer storage, Openfire chat server, C2 applications, Fortigate Firewalls, and Radio over IP communications.
  • Provide remote support to the FMF on C2 systems such as C2PC, TCS, GCCS-J, MCH, TAK, and JBC-P using the proprietary solutions and ticket management system.
  • Introduce FMF to the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and advances to emergent capabilities to achieve interdependence and operational effectiveness.
  • Resolve complex C2 Systems integration issues related to system upgrades, network restrictions (ports, protocols, firewalls), and system versions.
  • Interface with FMF personnel and US Government employees to provide break/fix support to C2 systems in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Research questions using available information resources: technical manuals, operating and administrator guides, fleet advisory messages (FAMs), and internal approved knowledge base(s).
  • General knowledge of a Network Operations Center (NOC).
  • Identify and elevate situations requiring urgent attention.
  • Generate new Knowledge Based Articles (KBAs) within the Ground C2 Portfolio.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements to facilitate onsite support requests.
  • Write after-action reports (AARs) to account for the support provided onsite.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in military training and education.
  • Direct participation in real-world operations is desired.

  • Willing to work in a 24x7x365 secured environment, demonstrate intuitive problem-solving skills, and allow for flexible scheduling.

Competencies:

  • Familiar with configuring GCCS-TCO software (JTCW and TCS) to provide Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Commanders a Common Operational Picture (COP), and coordinate COP Synchronization Tool (CST) configuration with higher, adjacent, and lower echelon commands.
  • In depth understanding of differing message format standards and compatibility between POR systems.
  • Familiar with Network Operations Center (NOC)
  • Familiar with COC and tactical utilization of C4I systems.
  • Working knowledge of the administration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Exchange, Windows Deployment Service (WDS)
  • Working knowledge of the administration and troubleshooting of NetApp filer storage, Openfire chat server, C2 applications, Fortigate Firewalls, and Radio over IP communications.
  • Understand and troubleshoot computer, android and IOS configurations.
  • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and consistent resolution of IT problems.
  • Strong active listening, data entry, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working with customers, addressing issues, and managing customer concerns and requests over the phone and/or in person.
  • Experience writing technical solutions and commercial knowledgebase articles.
