Job description

Network Administrator Location: Columbia, SC Onsite Interview Process: One round of virtual interviews with the camera on. Duration: 12 Months Employment Type: Contract Experience Required: 05+ Years Candidate location: Candidate must be a CURRENT resident within the Eastern Time Zone AND be willing to relocate to SC prior to their start at their own expense. Travel: Occasional travel throughout South Carolina.

Valid Driver's License required. Project Scope: Seeking an experienced Network Administrator to support enterprise network modernization initiatives focused on network infrastructure, secure authentication, identity services, and connectivity enhancements. The consultant will play a key role in supporting and maintaining critical network technologies, including SD-WAN, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), secure authentication services, and enterprise networking solutions.

The consultant will work closely with network operations, security, infrastructure, and business teams to deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize network services while ensuring compliance with security standards and operational best practices. This role requires strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking, wireless technologies, identity services, and network troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities: Support enterprise network modernization initiatives, including SD-WAN, PKI, and identity-based networking services.

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure. Support secure authentication services and certificate-based authentication solutions. Monitor and maintain enterprise network connectivity and performance.

Configure and support switches, wireless access points, and related network hardware. Perform network deployments, upgrades, firmware updates, and security patching activities. Troubleshoot network, authentication, and connectivity issues across Windows and mobile platforms.

Support mobile device connectivity and secure access services. Create and maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, and operational procedures. Participate in network testing, validation, and implementation activities.

Work closely with security, server, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and secure operations. Manage and resolve network-related service tickets and support requests. Assist with physical network installations, equipment deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.

Provide regular project updates, status reports, and technical documentation. Support statewide field office deployments and network support activities as required. Required Skills & Experience: 3+ years of Enterprise Network Infrastructure and LAN Administration experience.

3+ years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting switches and wireless access points. 3+ years of experience supporting SD-WAN, PKI, and secure authentication services. 3+ years of experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues on Windows and mobile devices.

3+ years of experience creating, maintaining, and updating network documentation and diagrams. Strong understanding of network operations, connectivity troubleshooting, and infrastructure support. Experience supporting enterprise authentication and identity management services.

Preferred Skills: Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, Cisco certifications, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent. Experience with Cisco Networking Academy or similar networking training programs. Experience supporting enterprise security and authentication platforms.

Knowledge of network infrastructure best practices and secure access technologies. Education Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Additional Qualifications Ability to perform hands-on physical network installations and infrastructure work.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work on ladders when required. Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to remote locations throughout the state. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional technical teams. Experience documenting technical solutions, configurations, and operational procedures.
