Job description

POS Systems & Network Technician

We are seeking a dependable and technically skilled POS Systems & Network Technician to join our growing point-of-sale technology company.

This position is ideal for someone with strong hardware troubleshooting experience, advanced networking knowledge, low-voltage wiring skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities. The technician will install, configure, deploy, and support POS systems for restaurant and retail customers.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot POS terminals, printers, cash drawers, payment devices, kitchen display systems, and related hardware
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues
  • Install and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless access points, Ethernet cabling, and network-connected devices
  • Terminate, test, label, and organize low-voltage network wiring
  • Prepare, stage, configure, and test equipment before customer deployment
  • Perform onsite and remote technical support
  • Learn system settings and configuration requirements across multiple POS platforms
  • Assist with new installations, upgrades, conversions, and equipment replacements
  • Support Windows, Android, payment terminals, printers, and other connected devices
  • Document service calls, equipment configurations, network settings, and issue resolutions
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal team members
  • Work independently to identify root causes and develop practical solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience troubleshooting computers, POS equipment, networking equipment, or similar business technology
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DHCP, DNS, static IP addressing, routers, switches, and wireless networks
  • Experience with Ethernet cabling, cable termination, low-voltage wiring, and cable testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and work through them methodically
  • Comfortable learning and supporting multiple POS systems
  • Familiarity with Windows and Android devices
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple service requests and prioritize urgent issues
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift and carry computer and POS equipment
  • Ability to work in restaurant, retail, and commercial environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience installing or supporting restaurant or retail POS systems
  • Experience with integrated payment terminals and credit card processing equipment
  • Knowledge of remote-support software and ticketing systems
  • Experience with surveillance cameras, access points, or other low-voltage systems
  • Experience documenting networks and technical configurations
