Job description

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer, to have have an excellent command of network design principles and a demonstrated ability to architect scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions that exceed business needs. Your role in FNZ will be to act as a trusted advisor to business units and a technical leader in evaluating and implementing new networking technologies. You will be an extremely effective communicator to all audiences and highly motivated to deliver meaningful and high-value improvements.

Specific Role Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve cloud network architecture standards, patterns, and processes across Azure, AWS, and GCP

  • Lead cloud connectivity strategy including B2B private interconnects via Megaport Virtual Edge and Equinix Network Edge

  • Collaborate with business units to ensure cloud network requirements are embedded in all new systems and applications

  • Work alongside Cloud and Network Engineering teams to trial and deploy infrastructure and tooling that meets FNZ business needs

  • Evaluate emerging cloud networking technologies and trends, and recommend appropriate strategies for adoption

  • Align cloud network architecture with broader infrastructure, security, identity, and application strategies

  • Support automation, observability, and telemetry integration across cloud platforms

  • Ensure designs meet performance, scalability, and security requirements across hybrid and multi-cloud environments

Experience required

  • Extensive experience designing and deploying cloud network infrastructure across Azure (primary), AWS, and GCP

  • Proven ability to lead cloud network transformation initiatives and build strong relationships across business and technical teams

  • Strong experience gathering requirements and translating them into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud network solutions

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and articulate technical concepts clearly

  • Deep technical expertise in:

    • Azure Virtual WAN, Private Link, ExpressRoute, and Route Server

    • AWS Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and VPC peering

    • GCP VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, and Shared VPC

    • BGP, OSPF, EVPN, and traffic engineering across hybrid environments

    • SD-WAN and SASE architectures

    • VXLAN overlays and NSX-T

    • FortiGate NGFWs and Fortinet SD-WAN

    • Fabric technologies such as Megaport MVEs and Equinix Fabric Edge

    • F5 Distributed Cloud and traditional ADC platforms (F5 LTM/GTM)

    • Network automation and orchestration (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines)

    • Observability and telemetry integration across cloud and hybrid platforms

    • Zero-trust network design and cloud-native security controls
