Position Summary


Astreya is looking for a Network Engineer with experience in Infrastructure Space & Power Design. This role will be responsible for planning, designing, and delivering physical network infrastructure that enables reliable, scalable operations across global data center environments.


This role focuses on space planning, power and electrical systems, and end-to-end infrastructure delivery, from early requirements definition through commissioning and operational handoff.


This individual brings deep expertise in data center connectivity and network infrastructure design. The role partners cross-functionally with engineering, design, construction, and operations teams to ensure infrastructure solutions align with business objectives, technical standards, and long-term growth requirements.

Key Responsibilities


Represent network infrastructure design and deployment requirements across global data center environments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, construction, and operations) to define and integrate space, power, cooling, and connectivity requirements into data center designs and standards
Support the development and evolution of network infrastructure standards, technical references, and design processes
Conduct construction administration and site visits; partner with architects, engineers, contractors, and construction teams to validate network builds against standards
Provide guidance and education to design, construction, and operations teams to ensure alignment with design intent and minimize site-level deviations
Support commissioning, provisioning, and operational readiness of network
infrastructure across global sites
Drive strategic initiatives focused on efficiency, scalability, innovation, and
standardization of network infrastructure
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and external vendors
Support automation, tooling & AI initiatives to improve consistency, quality, and efficiency across infrastructure design and deployment

Required Skills & Qualifications


5-7+ years of experience designing and deploying data center connectivity infrastructure
Deep knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic systems, including design standards and installation best practices
Working knowledge of fault-tolerant power and cooling architectures supporting high-availability environments
General understanding of data center design, construction, and commissioning processes
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving large-scale infrastructure design efforts
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to set strategic direction and execute tactically
Working knowledge of networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching), optical transport (DWDM, transceivers), and redundancy concepts
Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and collaborate across teams
Strong prioritization, multitasking, and communication skills

Education & Certifications


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities, Infrastructure, or a related field.
Professional Engineering (PE) license or relevant data center design certifications (preferred)
Electrical safety certifications (e.g., NFPA, OSHA).
Data center certifications (e.g., CDCP or equivalent).}

Additional Requirements


Experience leading and managing matrixed technical teams
Familiarity with data center facilities and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) infrastructure (e.g., BMS, DAS, WiFi, PTP, fire protection, physical security systems)
Working knowledge of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems
Experience with AutoDesk tools
Familiarity with Linux-based systems and scripting/automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl)

Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve workflows and drive measurable advancements
Flexibility to support off-hours work for critical cutovers, testing, or incident response
Ability to travel for on-site surveys, construction walks, commissioning, and issue resolution as needed

Salary Range

$114,000.00 - $180,000.00 USD (Salary)
