Job description

A large Hospital in Portland, OR is hiring multiple Network Infrastructure Technician (Field Technician) to join the team for a great opportunity!

Job Duties:

  • Upgrade and replace power infrastructure within hospital MDF/IDF network closets to improve reliability, eliminate failing power components, and provide full power redundancy for critical network equipment.
  • Install and configure dual power sources for network, server, and rack-mounted equipment, including secondary power supply modules.
  • Perform power cutovers of switches and compute devices from legacy ATS systems to newly installed power distribution equipment while minimizing disruption to hospital operations.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with hospital departments, ensuring appropriate communication, system backups, and approval prior to scheduled work.
  • Verify network, workstation, and server functionality following each installation or cutover and resolve any issues before moving to the next location.
  • Install, label, organize, and re-dress power and network cabling using established cabling standards, color-coded phase identification, and consistent routing practices.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years experience with installation work in IDF/MDF/Network Closets
  • 1-3 years experience installing and configuring rack mounted UPS & ATS - PDU experience as well
  • Cabling and route/switch experience
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure operations and understanding of: wide and local area networking, fiber and copper cabling, cable management, servers, blade chassis, storage, and backups
