Summary

We are seeking a well-rounded Network Engineer II to join our IT Infrastructure team. This position is responsible for administering, maintaining, supporting, securing, and troubleshooting the organization’s network and infrastructure environment across on-premises and cloud-based platforms.

The ideal candidate has independently supported or managed a mid-sized network and infrastructure environment and is comfortable working across networking, servers, virtualization, cloud services, endpoint management, backups, and security tools. This position requires broad working knowledge across multiple technologies but does not require the employee to be a subject-matter expert in every area.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on infrastructure generalist who can troubleshoot the overall environment, monitor security tools and alerts, coordinate remediation activities, and partner with vendors or other technical resources when specialized expertise is needed. This role is best suited for someone whose experience has not been limited to one specific area of networking or infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, support, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, wireless connectivity, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and related network services.
  • Support Microsoft Windows Server environments and hybrid Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID infrastructure.
  • Administer and support VMware vSphere virtual infrastructure, including virtual machines, hosts, clusters, and storage.
  • Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and related cloud services.
  • Maintain and support Check Point firewalls and other network-security technologies.
  • Monitor network and security consoles, investigate alerts, document findings, and escalate or coordinate remediation as appropriate.
  • Support the organization’s overall security posture by assisting with vulnerability remediation, access management, patching, and security-related infrastructure initiatives.
  • Administer Microsoft Intune or comparable solutions for endpoint management, device compliance, and application deployment.
  • Support endpoint patching and software deployment through ManageEngine Endpoint Central or comparable endpoint-management tools.
  • Support IT service operations through ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus or a comparable IT service-management platform.
  • Administer and monitor enterprise backup and disaster-recovery operations using Rubrik or a comparable platform.
  • Support cloud infrastructure and services in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
  • Perform system upgrades, routine maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning across network, server, virtualization, endpoint, and cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot network, server, virtualization, endpoint, security, backup, and cloud-related issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and specialized technical resources when additional expertise is required.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, system inventories, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in disaster-recovery planning, security initiatives, infrastructure projects, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to IT staff and business users.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Approximately five to seven years of progressive experience in network engineering, systems administration, or enterprise infrastructure support.
  • Experience independently supporting or managing a mid-sized network and infrastructure environment.
  • Broad working knowledge of networking, servers, virtualization, cloud services, endpoint management, backups, and security tools.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, wireless networking, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
  • Ability to monitor security systems, investigate alerts, and coordinate or escalate remediation activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers.
  • Willingness and ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and support an environment that includes multiple platforms.

Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities):

Experience with one or more of the following technologies is preferred. Comparable enterprise-platform experience will also be considered:

  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
  • VMware vSphere or comparable virtualization platforms
  • Microsoft 365
  • Check Point or comparable firewall technologies
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Amazon Web Services

  • ManageEngine Endpoint Central or comparable patching and deployment platforms
  • ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus or comparable IT service-management platforms
  • Rubrik or comparable backup and disaster-recovery solutions
  • Linux server administration and troubleshooting
  • Network and security monitoring tools

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits
  • Retirement savings plan
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development and certification opportunities
  • A collaborative team environment with opportunities to work across networking, virtualization, systems administration, cloud, and security technologies.
