Job description

This position is for a Senior Network System Engineer to support a global network. This position is for a Tier3 support engineer to provide support for a Tier 2 Network Operations Center (NOC), and overall network ownership of network devices in over 90 locations across the globe. The candidate should have very strong architectural skills, and be very knowledgeable of Cisco DMVPN technologies, and Xirrus wireless arrays.

This position will also entail innovation and roadmap direction of improvements in processes, equipment, and configurations. The candidate will work closely with the security group, server teams, and various other groups within the agency. The candidate will be responsible for escalation support (diagnosis, troubleshooting & resolution), Root Cause Determination (RCA) leadership, network documentation, assessments, and generation and analysis of monthly reports.

Occasional overtime may be required from the candidate. The global network is comprised primarily of Cisco components, and requires a highly skilled individual in routing, switching, load balancers, Trusted Internet connections and big picture network analysis. This position is located in the Washington Metro area, and will require occasional travel to local sites.
