Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Implementations Network Engineer to support a company focused on delivering resilient, secure network solutions across the global Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN). This position is on-site at Scott AFB, IL. The Implementations Network Engineer will provide hands-on network implementation, activation, and operational support for mission-critical DoD networks, ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with DISA standards. This role directly supports national defense operations by enabling reliable, secure connectivity for DoD mission partners worldwide. Responsibilities for the Implementations Network Engineer include: * Perform installation oversight, configuration, testing, monitoring, and activation of network equipment supporting DoD networks * Coordinate customer activities including Initial Test & Acceptance (IT&A), service activations, and DISA-required reporting * Manage Service Orders and Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) in accordance with Change Management procedures * Configure and implement network devices using approved configlets while validating customer requirements within DISN databases * Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve network issues by collaborating with customers, solution architects, DISA PMs, and vendor SMEs Required Qualifications for the Implementations Network Engineer include: * 4-8 years of relevant network engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 2-6 years with a Master's degree * Experience configuring and supporting enterprise networks using Cisco and/or Juniper technologies * Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols including BGP, ISIS, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS * Experience performing network configuration, testing, monitoring, performance management, and troubleshooting * Familiarity with DISA standards, Change Management processes, and DoD telecommunications concepts * Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a technical team environment * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related technical field * Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance
