About the role.

Reporting to the Manager of Network Services, the Network Engineer is responsible for supporting, operating, and evolving enterprise network infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. This role focuses on reliable day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and incremental improvements to network services, while contributing to standards, documentation, and planned technology upgrades. The Network Engineer works closely with Security, Architecture, and Operations teams to ensure network solutions are stable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.


What you'll be doing.

  • Support, operate, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure in accordance with established standards and architectures.
  • Perform day-to-day network operations including monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and change execution.
  • Implement approved network designs and contribute to incremental enhancements in collaboration with architects.
  • Support hybrid network connectivity, including on-prem network elements and cloud networking components (Azure).
  • Deploy and support network security devices and services such as firewalls, VPNs, and secure access platforms.
  • Participate in network automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives, developing frameworks and templates.
  • Collaborate with Security and Architecture teams to ensure network solutions align with security policies and enterprise intent.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Provide input into capacity planning and lifecycle management using operational metrics and performance data.
  • Stay current with networking best practices, tools, and technologies relevant to enterprise environments.


What you'll need to be successful.

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or network engineering roles.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in enterprise network operations and support.
  • Strong understanding of core networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, switching).
  • Hands-on operational experience with Cisco networking technologies such as SD-WAN, Catalyst, ACI, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting network security platforms such as firewalls, Zscaler, or similar secure access solutions.
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking concepts, with exposure to Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience supporting hybrid connectivity (site-to-site VPNs, remote access, cloud integration).
  • Familiarity with automation concepts and tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is an asset, but not required to be an expert.
  • Basic scripting or tooling experience (Python, Bash, or similar) is beneficial for operational efficiency.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment with changing priorities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are considered an asset.
