Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Network/Systems Project Engineer to serve as the primary technical driver for our IT integration projects. This is a "hands-on" role focused on the technical execution and implementation of complex infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a versatile engineer—a technical "Swiss Army Knife"—who is equally comfortable configuring a firewall for a small satellite office as they are deploying cloud virtualization for a large, multi-site enterprise. You will be responsible for the actual build-out and deployment, taking designs and turning them into fully operational, optimized environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Execution: Execute the deployment and integration of IT infrastructure projects, ensuring all technical specifications are met and systems are fully operational.
  • Network Deployment: Perform the physical and logical build-out of networks, including the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Cloud & Virtualization Implementation: Build and migrate systems to cloud environments, focusing on virtualization and modern infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Scalable Implementation: Deploy systems across a variety of scales, from single-office environments to complex, multi-site corporate architectures.
  • Cross-Platform Integration: Configure and optimize diverse operating systems and identity environments, ensuring seamless integration across Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.
  • Field Work: Perform local travel (typically within 50 miles) to client or company sites for physical hardware installations and on-site troubleshooting.
  • Technical Documentation: Produce accurate "as-built" documentation, including network diagrams and configuration logs, to ensure a smooth hand-off to operations teams.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience with a proven track record of successfully executing IT integration projects.
  • Project Versatility: Demonstrated experience delivering projects ranging from physical network build-outs to cloud virtualization.
  • Environmental Adaptability: Proven ability to implement systems in diverse settings, from small offices to large-scale multi-site enterprises.

Technical Proficiency

  • Networking Hardware: Strong design and troubleshooting skills with enterprise-grade hardware. While experience with all major makes and models is valued, a strong focus on Ubiquiti, Fortinet, and Aruba is highly preferred.
  • Cloud & Identity: High proficiency in Azure and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Operating Systems: Strong technical skills across Windows, Mac, and Linux.
  • Virtualization: Experience implementing industry-standard virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-native equivalents).

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel locally (within a 50-mile radius) as needed for project deployments.
  • Ability to perform physical installation of hardware (racking servers, mounting APs, cabling) where necessary.
