As a Network Communications (COMSEC) - Level 1 located in Dulles, VA, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
In this role, you will ensure the implementation of robust COMSEC safeguards. This position focuses heavily on configuration management via the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Local Management Device / Key Processor System Manager. You will be responsible for the accountability, handling, storage, packaging, shipment, and administration of all cryptographic materials, as well as system troubleshooting, software upgrades, and certifications.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Cryptographic Management: Order and transfer cryptographic keys, interface with the KMI help desk, and coordinate with vendors to provide trend analysis and information to the security team and management
  • Security Training: Assist in the development, presentation, and record-keeping of COMSEC security awareness training for all end-users
  • Collaboration: Partner directly with Government and site COMSEC Custodians to manage the procurement, fielding, and sustainment of secure voice systems and cryptographic devices
  • Asset Tracking: Maintain rigorous tracking, control, and inventory for all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and company-owned hardware
  • Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform other security and mission-related duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 0 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance
  • Strong understanding of DoD requirements for the safeguarding, control, transmission, and disposition of classified material
  • Thorough knowledge of security classification markings and physical security requirements for secure vaults
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 6 years
  • Proven experience serving as a primary manager for DoD, SAP, and SCI COMSEC accounts
  • Trained and certified in KMI and Over-the-Air Transfer (OTAT) protocols
  • Proficiency with NSA Type I Encryption Devices, including KG-175, KIV-7, KG-250, Simple Key Loaders (SKLs), and VIPERs
  • Hands-on experience handling Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI), associated keying material, and tactical fill devices
  • Familiarity with the NSA Distributed INFOSEC Accounting System (DIAS) or equivalent, and NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16
  • Trained and certified on the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) voice system
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations, manage multiple critical projects simultaneously, and communicate effectively across diverse technical teams

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,400.00 - $104,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
