Job description

Saalex is seeking a Network and Computer Systems Administrator in Ridgecrest, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $100k-$135k annually (depending upon experience)
Work Location: Full-time onsite.
Position Overview:
Provides system administration and cybersecurity support for Link Inject to Live (LITL) systems operating within Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) environments. Supports installation, operation, sustainment, and cybersecurity compliance of systems integrating live platforms with simulated training environments in accordance with DoD standards and contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot LITL systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Support data link injection and LVC integration (e.g., Link-16 or similar).
  • Execute system admin tasks: patching, account management, configuration control.
  • Implement cybersecurity controls per RMF and system baselines.
  • Apply STIGs, perform vulnerability scanning, and remediate findings.
  • Monitor systems/logs and support incident identification and response.
  • Maintain and update ATO artifacts and system documentation.
  • Support fielding, integration, testing, and live training events.
  • Troubleshoot across systems, networks, and data interfaces.
  • Travel to operational sites as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required:
  • Experience in system administration and/or cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of Windows/Linux systems and basic networking (TCP/IP).
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 and DoD security practices.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's + 3 years relevant experience OR Associate's + 5 years OR HS diploma + 7 years.

Desired:
  • Experience with LVC environments, tactical data links, or range systems.
  • Exposure to Link-16 or similar data link architectures.
  • Familiarity with ACAS/Nessus, virtualization, or cross-domain solutions.
  • Experience supporting field exercises or operational test events.

Education:
  • Bachelor's + 3 years relevant experience OR Associate's + 5 years OR HS diploma + 7 years.

Clearance:
  • Must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Work Environment:
  • Onsite with frequent field support to ranges and test locations. Hands-on support in operational environments required.
