POSITION MISSION

The Financial Systems Engineer / Netsuite Developer designs, builds, and maintains the reliable, scalable, and secure technical solutions that keep Bagel Brands running behind the scenes - so our teams can focus on what they do best: helping others own the morning.

This role serves as the technical subject matter expert for our financial and operational systems, ensuring they are optimally configured, seamlessly integrated, and built to support data accuracy, process automation, and long-term business growth. In alignment with Bagel Brands' Core Values, this engineer partners closely with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical, high-quality solutions.

  • Base Salary Range: $140,000-$150,000 annually
  • Bonus: 15% annual incentive target

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

NetSuite Development

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain SuiteScript (2.x/2.1) scripts, SuiteFlow workflows, SuiteTalk, RESTlets, SuiteBuilder, and SuiteCloud solutions.
  • Customize NetSuite modules, forms, fields, records, and dashboards to meet evolving business needs.
  • Apply best practices to ensure the performance, security, and long-term maintainability of all customizations.

Systems Integration & Data Flow Management

  • Architect, build, and maintain integrations between NetSuite and third-party systems, including point of sale, e-commerce, data warehouses, and other external applications.
  • Use integration platforms (e.g., Celigo) or custom API connectors to ensure reliable, accurate data synchronization across systems.
  • Implement error-handling, monitoring, logging, and recovery mechanisms to keep integrations running smoothly.

Technical Leadership & Solution Design

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and provide clear, strategic technical recommendations.
  • Translate functional requirements into technical designs, integration specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Champion NetSuite best practices and ensure all solutions align with architectural standards and compliance policies.

Data Quality & System Reliability

  • Maintain high data accuracy across all integrated systems, acting with urgency to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of integration or platform issues.
  • Optimize system performance and ensure smooth end-to-end data flows across the organization.

Support, Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide technical support for users, administrators, and business teams with responsiveness and care.
  • Stay current with financial system releases and proactively identify opportunities to leverage new features.
  • Automate manual processes and reduce operational overhead through thoughtful, resourceful system design.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Proven experience as a developer with hands-on expertise in NetSuite implementations, customization, scripting, and integration development.
  • NetSuite Certification (e.g., NetSuite Certified Developer or Administrator).
  • Strong proficiency in SuiteScript (1.0 and 2.x/2.1).
  • Experience with SuiteTalk (REST/SOAP APIs) for integration purposes and working with data formats such as XML and JSON.
  • Solid understanding of core web technologies and languages, including JavaScript, HTML, SQL, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with the SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF).
  • In-depth knowledge of NetSuite's standard modules, data model, and architecture.
  • Experience developing and maintaining EDI. (eg. maps and standards AS2, SFTP, ASN, X12, UCS, EDI875/810,880,824, 855)
  • This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization (e.g. H-1B vias sponsorship)

Preferred:

  • Experience with iPaaS tools such as Celigo.
  • Experience in restaurant, retail, hospitality, or other fast-paced, multi-site environments.
