Job description

Graco is a global leader in fluid management products and solutions, used in everyday applications ranging from professional painting and surface finishing to many industrial processes.
Graco's professional painting division offers airless sprayers (interior/exterior), texture sprayers, line striping equipment, roofing equipment, and high-pressure washers.

Position Summary

As Account Manager, you build and expand a profitable customer base for Graco Contractor Equipment (CD) products in your assigned territory by converting end users (primarily professional painters/contractors) and strengthening performance through the paint store distribution channel, distributor events, and niche channels.
You work closely with local distributors to increase brand awareness and market share, using intensive merchandising, product demonstrations, and training throughout the region.
Depending on the territory setup, the role may be performed from a home office and requires frequent travel within the region.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Territory Growth

  • Manage, maintain, and expand a profitable customer base for Graco CD products within your assigned region.
  • Achieve assigned territory sales and contribution objectives while managing expenses responsibly.
  • Ensure effective and regular end-user contact, focused on converting professional painters/contractors to Graco solutions.

End-User Conversion (Demos, Merchandising, Events)

  • Convince end users to use and purchase Graco equipment through hands-on demonstrations and training.
  • Promote Graco products at end-user events, distributor shows, and professional meetings, clearly explaining product features and benefits.
  • Support product positioning in paint stores and other channels, and help drive adoption of new technologies.

Distributor Enablement & Channel Support

  • Work with distributors and paint stores to improve product visibility, positioning, and sell-through.
  • Provide thorough, timely, hands-on training for paint store personnel and distributor equipment sales teams, including basic operation and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain effective distribution management and strengthen collaboration with channel partners.

Product & Market Expertise

  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Graco CD equipment, applications, and use-cases (paint and allied products).
  • Continuously expand product knowledge to improve training effectiveness and conversion success.

Reporting & Feedback

  • Provide regular, proactive feedback and updates to management on market conditions, competitor activity, and territory performance.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Experience in a similar commercial field role with comparable goals and responsibilities.
  • Technical and/or commercial degree (or equivalent through experience).
  • Experience in construction/building is valued; experience in B2B or managing a distribution network is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong commercial ability and awareness, combined with a hands-on mentality (comfortable working with paint/application materials).
  • Solid business knowledge, self-discipline, and customer-focused teamwork.
  • Confident presenting, demonstrating, and training in front of customers and distributor teams.
  • Good PC skills.

Language & Mobility

  • Ability to converse and write proficiently in English
  • Native Dutch
  • High travel availability within the assigned territory (Netherlands and/or BeLux; occasional travel beyond).
