Sr Principal Systems Administrator
Location: Aurora, Colorado (Onsite)

Role Overview
A position is available for a Principal / Sr. Principal System Administrator to join a team for a role based in Aurora, Colorado. This role involves performing as a Linux and Windows System Administrator on large government contracts and maintaining the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform as a Linux and Windows System Administrator on large government contracts.
  • Administer VMware technologies or related platforms.
  • Manage all aspects of Network Attached Storage (NAS).
  • Maintain the operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinating with various engineering and technical teams.
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements for performance and reliability, including installation, patching, monitoring, and configuration.
  • Provide backup and recovery services; manage file systems, disk space, and virus protection.
  • Create and maintain user and computer accounts and manage file permissions and security access lists.
  • Maintain security audit and logging information as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Support the Cyber Security team.
  • Report on project status for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
Required Qualifications
Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility and a Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) as a condition of employment.
Education & Experience:
  • Principal: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of IT experience; Master's degree with 3+ years of IT experience; Associate degree with 7+ years of IT experience; or a HS Diploma / GED with 9 years of IT experience.
  • Sr. Principal: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of IT experience; Master's degree with 6+ years of IT experience; Associate degree with 10+ years of IT experience; or a HS Diploma / GED with 12+ years of IT experience.

Technical Skills & Certifications:
  • Server administration experience with Linux (RedHat Enterprise Linux preferred) and Windows.
  • Experience with administration of VMware technologies or related systems.
  • A DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) is required, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of the start date.
  • Experience with NAS storage device administration (preferably NetApp ONTAP 8.x or higher; CDOT).

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to support after-hours and on weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A higher degree in a STEM-related discipline.
  • Experience with network hardware and configuration.
  • 5+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server administration in an SCI classified environment.
  • Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
  • Understanding of Enterprise-level storage concepts, including commonly used RAID-levels.
  • Experience remediating security vulnerabilities and hardening Linux systems in accordance with RMF and STIGs.
  • Identity Management (Single Sign-On) experience.
  • VMware and ESXi (6.x or higher) configuration and management experience.
  • Experience with host-based firewall implementations and configuration (e.g., Redhat "iptables").
  • Windows 10 administration, Windows Server, Group Policies (GPOs), and Active Directory management experience.
  • Documentation skills using Wiki pages and SharePoint sites.
  • DoD 8570 Certification in a primary OS (Windows, Linux, Cisco).
  • Currently valid Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar security certification.
  • Experience with VMWare, NetApp, and Splunk; comfortable with maintenance and OS upgrades.
  • Familiarity with Tenable and Nessus scans for vulnerability and controls implementation.
