We are seeking a Senior NetApp Storage Engineer with deep expertise in NetApp ONTAP, core NetApp technologies, and enterprise storage infrastructure. This role requires a highly experienced, proactive, and consultative professional who can lead complex storage initiatives, support hardware break/fix activities, and provide technical leadership for strategic storage projects.
The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted storage subject matter expert (SME), bringing both hands-on technical expertise and the ability to advise stakeholders on best practices, architecture, and future-state storage solutions.
This position is primarily remote; however, candidates must reside within the New York City metropolitan area and be available to go onsite as needed (possibly 2 to 3 times per week).
AS A NETAPP ENGINEER, YOU CAN EXPECT TO HAVE THESE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for NetApp ONTAP and core NetApp storage technologies
  • Lead and execute hardware break/fix, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities across NetApp storage environments
  • Provide technical consultation, recommendations, and leadership for special storage-related projects
  • Manage and support NetApp FAS and AFF platforms in enterprise environments
  • Perform storage performance analysis, optimization, capacity planning, and health assessments
  • Troubleshoot complex storage, SAN/NAS, and infrastructure issues
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and application teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and data integrity
  • Drive proactive improvements and recommend best practices for storage administration and operations
  • Support data protection, replication, disaster recovery, and storage automation initiatives

TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU'LL NEED EXPERIENCE SUCH AS:
  • Extensive hands-on experience administering and supporting NetApp ONTAP environments
  • Strong expertise with NetApp Core Technologies, including:
    • FAS platforms
    • AFF platforms
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized storage integrations
  • Experience with ASA Fibre Channel environments
  • Knowledge of SAN and Fibre Channel architectures
  • Demonstrated experience performing hardware troubleshooting, maintenance, and break/fix activities
  • Strong understanding of enterprise storage architecture, SAN/NAS technologies, and data management
  • Experience with performance tuning, storage optimization, and capacity management
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently while providing proactive and consultative support
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and business stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • NetApp certifications such as:
    • NCDA
    • NCIE
    • Other relevant NetApp certifications

  • Location: New York, NY
  • Onsite Requirements: Candidates must be local to the New York City/ Brooklyn, NY area and available for regular onsite work and critical support needs (2 to 3 times per week on average)
