Job Title: Senior Storage & Data Protection Engineer (NetApp | Veeam | VMware)
Location: Wichita, KS - 67260 (ONSITE)
Duration: 6-month contract (potential to extend or hire)

Overview:
Seeking a hands-on senior engineer to own and modernize enterprise storage and data protection in a secure, regulated research environment. This role leads NetApp infrastructure strategy, complex migrations, disaster recovery design, and backup/virtualization optimization. Requires strong technical execution, documentation discipline, and experience in CMMC-aligned environments.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years enterprise storage engineering experience.
Advanced NetApp ONTAP administration in production.
Proven leadership of large-scale storage migrations.
Strong SnapMirror configuration and troubleshooting expertise.
Hands-on Veeam backup/recovery implementation and operations.
VMware vSphere administration experience.
Experience in regulated environments (CMMC, DoD, HIPAA, NIST).
Strong technical documentation skills.
Top Must Haves:
Deep NetApp ownership + migration expertise (the centerpiece). This role lives and dies on NetApp. Not just admin experience, but true ownership
Data protection & disaster recovery architecture (Veeam)
Experience in regulated / CMMC-aligned environments. Plenty of engineers have NetApp + VMware, but fewer understand how to operate in secure, compliance-heavy environments
