ABOUT SHAMROCK BUSINESS CONSULTING

Shamrock Business Consulting is a direct-hire recruiting firm focused exclusively on the power, construction, and mission-critical industries. We partner with electrical testing, engineering, and utility-services companies across the country to connect them with technicians who keep the grid running safely. When you apply through Shamrock, you work directly with a recruiter who understands the trade and will walk you through the process from first call to first day — no resume black hole, no runaround.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Twelve months in, success looks like running standard acceptance and maintenance test procedures on low- and medium-voltage equipment with light oversight, turning in clean, accurate field data, and becoming a trusted member of the field crew as you work toward Level III certification.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform routine acceptance and maintenance testing on switchgear, transformers, breakers, relays, and other protective devices under the direction of a senior technician

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate test equipment such as megohmmeters, hipot sets, and relay test sets

  • Record accurate field data and assist with report preparation

  • Follow NFPA 70E, OSHA, and NETA safety standards on every job site, including lockout/tagout and arc-flash procedures

  • Travel to client sites throughout the Treasure Valley as projects require

  • Support senior technicians on more complex commissioning and troubleshooting work to build toward Level III certification

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

  • NETA Level II certification, or eligibility to sit for the exam (2 years of related field experience, or 1 year with completion of a 2-year technical electrical program)

  • Working knowledge of electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E, OSHA 10/30)

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites

  • Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and schematics

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with switchgear, transformer, or relay testing

  • Associate degree or technical school training in electrical/electronics technology

  • Experience with test equipment such as Doble, Megger, or Multi-Amp instruments
