Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently in search of a skilled Operations professional with a background in Sales to oversee our Boston region. The Service Center Manager will be responsible for providing business, managerial, and technical guidance to both our technicians and clients while fostering the growth of the service center. Our organization specializes in electrical engineering and testing, offering a wide range of maintenance, testing, and engineering services across various sectors, including utilities, data centers, renewable energy, and both commercial and industrial markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the sales, profitability, and quality of operations in the designated area.
  • Conduct regular sales visits to existing major clients and establish relationships with new ones.
  • Prepare proposals or service agreements for our offerings and repair services.
  • Review and authorize contracts in accordance with established Limits of Authority.
  • Collaborate with the Region Director, Regional Sales Manager, and Marketing Services to drive new business initiatives.
  • Create an Area Profit Plan with input from the local committee and periodically assess its progress to ensure alignment with Service Center objectives.
  • Facilitate regular management committee meetings to enhance communication and evaluate business performance.
  • Assist staff in generating weekly invoices and monthly Status Reports.
  • Conduct reviews and audits of field operations.
  • Supervise the safety and technical training of Field Engineers and Technicians.
  • Coordinate technical training for field staff and support their career advancement.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to field technical procedures.
  • Draft and assess proposals, as well as review reports submitted by field engineers.
  • Organize and schedule technician assignments in collaboration with clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the Industrial Service sector.
  • NETA 3 or NETA 4 Certification is preferred.
  • Strong communication, supervisory, organizational, and management skills are essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with clients, colleagues, subordinates, and management.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including editing and formatting in Microsoft Word, conducting online research for standards/products/manufacturers, and operating computer-controlled testing equipment.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed to cover the field region and attend company meetings.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear. Must be able to work at a computer, with specific vision requirements including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • A four-year degree or graduation from an Electrical Technical School or equivalent military training; a BSEE/BSEET is preferred.

The expected salary range for this position in the Massachusetts area is between $124,425 and $155,466 annually, plus a Sales Incentive Plan. Salary ranges may differ for other geographic locations. Certain roles may qualify for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonuses, and stock options, based on individual performance and role specifics. Additionally, this position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability, PTO, holiday pay, and a 401k plan.
