SUMMARY
We are looking for a dedicated Emergency Room Tech to join our team. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician participates in the delivery of care to patients in the Emergency Department. The Emergency Department Technician promotes good public relations and professional attitude when dealing with co-workers, patients, visitors, and physicians. The Emergency Department Technician also provides patient care and performs job functions and responsibilities in compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and job description.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides courteous service to our patients, visitors, staff, physicians, and other internal/external customers.
  • Accepts or responds to change in a manner that promotes and supports departmental/hospital goals and objectives.
  • Responds to the needs of the department by accepting additional assignments and or assisting others to ensure the continuity of services.
  • Maintains the desk as needed which includes order entry, charges, ordering supplies, and telephone etiquette
  • Transport patients, lab specimens and other as assigned.
  • Follows established emergency, infection control and or universal precautions procedure as required.
  • Promptly responds to the needs of the patients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage patients of all ages or patients with special need.
  • Other duties as assigned
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital's compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • EMT B, EMT P, PCT/PA or CNA certification
Preferred:
  • Six months of Emergency Department experience preferred.
  • CPI and Team Restraints

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk as well as occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch. Normal or corrected vision, hearing and ability to speak are necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, sharp eye focus and ability to distinguish colors. There may be periods of stressful, intense concentration with more than average pressure used in a variety of problem-solving situations.
