Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform laboratory activities within an assigned stage of the sample processing workflow, including sample preparation, DNA extraction and isolation, sequencing or amplification steps, and downstream processing, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Execute batch- or plate-based sample processing activities to meet assigned production volumes and timelines.
  • Handle and process biological samples (e.g., hair, blood cards, and other materials) following defined laboratory protocols.
  • Perform manual preparation and handling steps required for sample processing, including loading, unloading, and managing laboratory plates and consumables.
  • Operate laboratory equipment, including electronic and automated systems, in accordance with SOPs.
  • Support high-throughput operations by completing assigned workflow steps within an established process.
  • Generate and perform routine reviews of data outputs in accordance with defined procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, including LIMS entries, sample tracking, and laboratory documentation.
  • Follow SOPs, ISO procedures, and quality standards consistently.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Complete assigned workloads within established timelines and production expectations.
  • Perform routine instrument checks and basic maintenance in accordance with procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree preferred in a relevant field such as Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or related life sciences
  • 0-1 years' laboratory experience preferred, including familiarity with molecular biology techniques and automated systems.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to operate automated liquid handling systems and robotic platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to SOPs, ISO standards, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to maintain consistency and accuracy in a high-throughput environment.
