Job description

Shaw Electric, Inc. is a leading electrical contractor serving Iowa and the Midwest. We specialize in industrial and commercial electrical services with a strong reputation for safety, quality, and reliability. We're currently seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to work full-time at a major industrial facility in Muscatine, Iowa.

Job Summary:

The Industrial Electrician will perform electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in an industrial plant environment. This is a 40-hour/week, full-time, on-site role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all work at job site is performed in a safe manner. Follows all safety procedures, conducts safety meetings and toolbox chats, and encourages others to work safely. Attends required safety training. Promotes and documents safe work practices to ensure compliance with customer, OSHA and company guidelines.
  • Analyzes blue prints, schematics, and drawings of electrical systems to determine methods to install wire and conduit according to NEC and local codes within time limits.
  • Installs, bends, and secure underground and rigid conduit and fixtures (e.g. lighting, alarms, signage, etc.) to provide enhanced and/or upgraded electrical capabilities.
  • Pull, route, and terminate wires for power distribution and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including motors, VFD's, PLC's, and control panels.
  • Terminates panels per drawings in a neat and professional manner.
  • Mentors apprentices and shows how to accurately and efficiently complete tasks.
