Job description

NE Millworks is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Manager to join our Lewisville, Texas team. This role requires strong leadership, proven production management expertise, and a deep understanding of millwork manufacturing.

Responsibilitiesย 

General

  • Supervise and monitor daily activities of shop employees to ensure production is in line with project schedules.
  • Accurately read and interpret plans, specs, and shop drawings.
  • Assign drawings to Draftsman.
  • Review drawings before they go to production.ย 
  • Design cabinets for custom jobs and apartments.
  • Assist in keeping material in stock for job in production.
  • Approve material orders.
  • Field measure local custom jobs.
  • Monitor progress of jobs in the shop.

Administrative

  • Assign local installers schedule.
  • Assign job numbers to employee timecards.
  • Review and code invoices.
  • Use computer software (Cabinet Vision) and the internet to organize, track, and communicate as needed.
  • Monitor that cabinetry is being produced efficiently on a daily basis.

Safety

  • Immediately respond to any reports of unsafe conditions.
  • Enforce safety requirements per OSHA standards to ensure a safe shop.
  • Complete any pertinent safety checklists with shop staff.ย 
  • Learn and comply with all company safety rules.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cabinetry or equivalent field.
  • Knowledge of cabinetry materials, construction, and installation processes.
  • Proficient in Cabinet Vision.
  • Demonstrate strong judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Must be familiar with all safety features on equipment, machinery, or materials used for job duties.
  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Able to stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on specific needs of the day.ย 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
