Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced NDT Level III Inspector to lead and support nondestructive testing (NDT) operations within a precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining NDT programs, establishing inspection techniques, interpreting inspection results, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mentoring Level I and Level II inspectors.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aerospace or industrial NDT, strong technical expertise in multiple inspection methods, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain NDT processes and inspection procedures.
  • Establish and validate inspection techniques for Radiographic Testing (RT/RI), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and other applicable NDT methods.
  • Interpret inspection results in accordance with applicable codes, customer specifications, and industry standards.
  • Evaluate new NDT technologies and recommend process improvements to increase quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Train, mentor, and certify Level I and Level II NDT personnel.
  • Maintain NDT personnel qualification and certification records.
  • Perform Level I and Level II inspection duties as required.
  • Ensure NDT equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operating safely.
  • Conduct audits and support internal and external quality inspections.
  • Maintain production metrics and assist with production planning and resource allocation.
  • Support on-time delivery by coordinating inspection priorities with manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality management systems, and applicable industry standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain an organized and compliant work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma with 4+ years of Level II experience in Radiographic Testing (RT/RI), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT); or
  • Associate degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field with 2+ years of applicable Level II experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field with 1+ year of applicable Level II experience.
  • NDT Level III Certification in Radiographic Testing (RT/RI) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT) in accordance with NAS-410 or equivalent.
  • Vision certification meeting NAS-410 requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred
  • ASNT Level III Certification
  • Experience with:
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    • X-Ray Inspection
    • Computed Tomography (CT)
    • Thermal Wave Inspection
    • Digital Radiography
    • Additional advanced NDT methods
  • Aerospace manufacturing or precision casting experience.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
