Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a NDT Level II in RT/DR/UT/PT looking to advance into a Level III position, to join our team in Canoga Park, California. This role will be focused on quickly attaining Level III certifications and then utilizing that certification to support daily NDT operations at the site. This can include, review of supplier NDT techniques, revisions of internal processes, procedures and specifications and other tasks as assigned by management.

the ideal candidate will hold a Level II certificate and meet the minimum experience hours requirements as defined in section 6 of NAS410 for a Level III. Applicants who have the minimum experience hours are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be asked to provide objective evidence of meeting certification hour requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Review supplier-submitted NDT technique sheets for compliance to AR-Los Angeles specifications and drawing requirements. Coordinate with suppliers on the development and approval of these technique sheets. Prepare necessary reports.
  • Manage site NDT supply base by monitoring suppliers to ensure flow down of AR requirements to sub-tier suppliers, audit existing NDT suppliers and assess potential new NDT suppliers for their ability to meet site requirements.
  • Review process specifications, in-house technique sheets, etc. as noted above under job responsibilities.
  • Provide training and testing to L I and L II.
  • Develop, review and approve NDT techniques with L II personnel.
  • Write, review and approve specifications pertinent to NDT.
  • Support review boards for inspectability of product.
  • Prepare NDT for customer and internal audits.
  • Develop and Lead Corrective action reviews on audit/NCR findings.
  • Maintain own L III certifications.
  • Participate in the direction of the NDT department.
  • Audit and surveillance of quality systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related quality experience.Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related quality experience.In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related quality experience.
  • Must meet minimum requirements to qualify for a Level III per NAS-410 Table 5.
    • 4 years as a Level II with no degree
    • 2 years as a Level II with a 2 year technical degree
    • 1 year as a Level II with a 4 year degree

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • ASNT Certification and/ or currently active NAS410 Level III certifications in RT (Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), UT (Ultrasonic), or PT (Penetrant) methods.
  • Direct experience with the testing of Aerospace Metallic products.
  • Hands-on working experience in a manufacturing environment and a corresponding understanding of manufacturing processes is essential.
  • A demonstrated proficiency with a variety of NDT inspection techniques and equipment along with a working knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation is required.
  • Knowledge of industry NDT standards (ex. NAS410, ASTM 1742, ASTM 1417, ASTM 1444, AMS-STD-2154, etc...) is required.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must possess strong computer skills and be well-organized.
  • Position requires responding to customer needs and may include weekend work.
  • Experience with auditing practices and Process Certification is desired.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $96,000 - $178.000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
