Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday – Thursday | 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (4x10 Schedule)

Skills Required

Primary (Must-Have)

  • Certification in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Digital X-Ray Inspection.
  • Experience performing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on aerospace or aircraft components.

Position Overview

The NDT Technician 2 is responsible for performing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on sheet metal aircraft components using Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Digital X-Ray techniques. This role ensures components meet customer specifications and aerospace quality standards while supporting production efficiency, process improvement, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will possess the required NDT certifications, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to perform detailed inspections in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.



Roles & Responsibilities

Non-Destructive Testing & Inspection

  • Perform NDT inspections on aircraft sheet metal components using approved inspection methods.
  • Process parts and interpret inspection results according to customer and company specifications.
  • Generate and evaluate conventional and digital X-ray images for simple and complex part geometries.
  • Support NDT Technician 1 by assisting with inspections and technical guidance.
  • Detect manufacturing defects and communicate findings to the appropriate personnel.


Documentation & Quality Assurance

  • Accurately document inspection results and manufacturing records.
  • Create and revise NDT technique sheets as required.
  • Ensure manufacturing planning documentation and electronic timekeeping records are completed accurately.
  • Verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.


Technical Support & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of inspection methods and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist Engineering and Production teams in resolving inspection-related issues.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and technical documentation.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment.


Safety & Compliance

  • Perform all inspections in accordance with established safety procedures and aerospace quality standards.
  • Follow approved NDT procedures and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Demonstrate proper inspection techniques and assist in training team members when required.



Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in FPI, Radiographic Testing, and Digital X-Ray Inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
