The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,000 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Systems Engineer the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the NCIS ITD organization in Quantico, VA.

• Plans, designs, and implements various systems by conducting market research, evaluates new technologies.

• Interfaces with Contractor and Government personnel, confers with equipment and software vendors, and directs subordinate personnel to take appropriate courses of action.

• Coordinates and implements security operations functions in support of cybersecurity accreditation risk management framework (RMF) continuous monitoring process.

• Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in cloud service and relevant application and system technologies.

• Also, responsible for writing, editing, and preparing graphical presentations of technical information.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Bring your help desk expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. Our Systems Engineer must have:

• Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI clearance. A TS with SCI eligibility is also acceptable.

• Required Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in operating computer systems.

• Experience in engineering data center.

• Broad experience with virtualized environments, and a variety of technologies supporting computing capabilities.

• Demonstrated ability to provide an outstanding customer service experience in a variety of circumstances across all organizational levels.

• Experience and Knowledge of some of the following: Windows Server, VMware, and a variety of system level applications.

• Familiarity and or experience with cloud-based services and environments (e.g., MS Azure and AWS DevOps environment, Kubernetes, clusters, containers. etc.)

• Required Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE required. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certifications preferred. Position

• Education: BS Degree in technical discipline.

• Location: Onsite at Quantico, VA

• Position Availability: Pending contract award in mid September 2026 timeframe.

• US Citizenship required
