OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a Divisional Craft Trainer - Concrete to assist the Director of Craft Training with the internal craft training programs and external partnerships with Registered Apprentice Programs.

This position will support the career development of apprentices, helpers, and craft professionals through nationwide training and mentoring efforts and includes travel as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary contact for Training Director for Water Division on all craft training initiatives
  • Primary contact for all levels of craft professionals attending internal craft training programs
  • Primary contact for apprentices enrolled in external Registered Apprentice Programs
  • Assisting the Director with development of craft training classroom and hands-on content
  • Delivering craft training classroom and hands-on content through live in-person, live online, and recorded sessions
  • Assist the Director with development and implementation of leadership training for foremen
  • Craft Training for entry level employees on construction basics (hand & power tool usage, print reading, construction math, basic rigging, construction safety) including assisting the Director with all session planning and coordination that is required
  • Craft Training for journey level employees and above on advanced construction topics depending on Trainer's specialty (Concrete, Pipe, Steel, etc) to consist of specialty tool usage and installation techniques. This includes assisting the Director with all session planning and coordination that is required with jobsite teams, vendors, and guest instructors
  • Employee mentoring and/or coaching for all levels of craft professionals (entry, journey, foreman).
  • Supports divisional recruiting events, when possible
  • Reporting responsibilitiesfor career and training activities
  • Assist the Director at divisional meetings and jobsites, to market and advertise craft training initiatives
  • Assists in development of new training initiatives and programs
  • Coordinates with other regional managers on training and development initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Journey level competency in one or more trades: Carpentry, Concrete, Civil, Pipe, Structural Steel, Survey, Equipment Operation, or Mechanical/Millwright
  • 3 years of mentoring early career craft professionals (apprentices and/or helpers) as a Journeyman, Foreman, or Superintendent
  • NCCER Craft Instructor certification, or ability to obtain
  • Regular travel required (50-75%), to jobsites & regional offices, home most weekends
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Must commit to a 2 year rotation in order to qualify internally
