Nature of Work:
The Equipment Manager oversees all aspects of team equipment operations, ensuring players, coaches, and technical staff are fully supported for training, travel, and matchday performance. This role is critical to maintaining operational efficiency, league compliance, and player readiness across MLS, MLS Next Pro and MLS Next season and competitions.
Examples of work performed:
  • Manage the ordering, inventorying, storing, distribution and heat pressing of all match, training and auxiliary gear for the Colorado Rapids first team
  • Coordinate and execute daily equipment needs and training logistics
    • Locker Room and Coaches Locker Room set-up
    • Training and auxiliary gear
    • Equipment set-up on the field
    • Transition of equipment during training sessions
    • Duties as necessary at the discretion of the coaching staff
    • Manage environment during session regarding spectators
  • Oversee all home and away matchday equipment set-up and execution for pre-season, regular and post-season
    • Pre-game locker room setup, in-game needs and post-game cleanup and laundry
    • Travel with first team for all away trips
    • Planning, packing, loading, unloading, distributing, collecting and laundry for the team's game, training and auxiliary gear.
    • Manage referee and visiting team locker room needs for home matches
  • Advance party for both away training sessions and matchday
  • Liaise with Turf Management team regarding field maintenance and daily watering schedules for training sessions
  • Communicate with Adidas and the MLS league office, as well as other third-party vendors, regarding equipment, gear and uniform initiatives on a weekly basis.
    • Manage Adidas trade allocation and ordering process within guidelines set by sporting leadership
  • Manage the club's inventory management system
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure proper laundry machine maintenance and necessary chemical ordering
  • Act as club equipment representative, working with commercial and sporting departments on club and league initiatives
  • Work with commercial departments as needed to execute Supporter's Sale
  • Direct Supervisor to Equipment Coordinator I, Equipment Coordinator II, Rapids 2 Equipment Manager and Academy Equipment Manager

Qualifications:
  • Minimum
    • BS/BA degree in field or related field
    • High School or GED
    • 5+ years' experience in field
    • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
    • Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
  • Preferred
    • Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese

Compensation:
  • Base salary range $60,000-$70,000 per annum
