Position Summary:

This role requires a well-rounded knowledge of television systems, including intercom, video, audio, and control system workflows. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of computer networking environments and the ability to troubleshoot across them. As part of the Engineering team, this individual will provide technical support for the Referee Replay Center, NBA broadcasts, and retrieval systems. The role requires independence, sound judgment, and the ability to make effective technical decisions in high-pressure environments.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Interact with and support Replay, Production, IT and Operations Staff
  • Responsible for the smooth operation of League's Intercom systems across 30 venues and NY & NJ offices.
  • Support/manage Riedel Artist, Bolero, & RTS Communications Systems.
  • Perform on call on-site remote emergency troubleshooting and repairs
  • Check-in all wired and wireless communications devices inbound and outbound for technical continuity
  • Assist with supervision, facility design, construction and installations as necessary.
  • Detailed technical reports.
  • Arena Network (HSAN) support; including remote troubleshooting and the ability to lead remote technicians to resolution.
  • Liaison to vendor for product support (rentals, upgrades, new product development, etc.).
  • Minor equipment repairs (cables, PC board replacement, etc.).

Required Education/Professional Experience:

  • 4 - 8 years of technical engineering experience.
  • College degree in Communications/Engineering or related field required.
  • In lieu, a college degree significant field experience will be considered.

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:

  • Must have a strong knowledge of audio and communications systems, related technology and familiar with standards (AES67, ST2110, DANTE, RVON, PTP)
  • Knowledge of IP technologies and standards
  • Must have strong knowledge of broadcast systems and operations and possess the ability to assemble and operate studio, and on-air production systems.
  • Experience supporting RTS, Riedel & UNITY communications systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to handle systems routing, quality control issues, and variations in production requirements.
  • Experience with RF communications and Frequency Coordination
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and creatively.
  • Willingness to travel and accept shift and weekend assignments.
  • Experience with HD broadcasts and knowledge of HD systems.

Salary Range:

$95,000 - $115,000
