Job description

Exercise Planner Full-time, on-site in Norfolk, Virginia GPI provides project management professionals, planners, skilled analysts, subject matter experts, and problem solvers for a wide variety of U.S. government and private sector efforts. In North America, Europe, Africa, and the Pacific—GPI performs Joint and Navy planning, provides expertise to Joint, Allied, and Fleet operational exercises and training, and works with new technical solutions such as Robotic Autonomous Systems (RAS).

GPI prepares clients for the future operational environment. The role: The individual assigned to this role will serve as an exercise planner in support of Fleet training at the Operational Level of War. This individual will support exercise planning and execution and demonstrate knowledge of Navy and Joint military planning and operations, leadership, and teamwork.

The assigned individual will: Conduct exercise and experiment planning and execution as directed Serve as an integral part of a planning and execution team Be knowledgeable of joint and Navy doctrine Serve on and lead, as directed, an exercise team to provide high-quality representation to Joint and service training audiences Required training, experience, qualifications, and skills: BA/BS degree 3+ years of experience on JFACC/AOC or JFMCC/MOC or other operational level staff 5+ years of experience in USN/USMC/USAF aviation or other line officer experience Staff officer experience at the three or four-star level Excellent organizational skills Experience with exercise planning and design Excellent written communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Willingness to travel TS//SCI clearance Desired training, experience, qualifications, and skills: Experience as a military trainer or instructor JPME I/II Operational level training experience as a trainer Tactical level training experience as a trainer
