IDR is seeking a Sr Spacecraft Navigation Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Westminster, CO. This role involves developing and implementing navigation solutions for lunar and deep space missions within a cutting-edge space industry organization. The company focuses on pioneering solutions to support humanityโ€™s return to the Moon and beyond. Position Overview for the Sr Spacecraft Navigation Engineer : Lead the design and development of ground and flight navigation architectures for space missions to the Moon and beyond.
Implement and optimize navigation algorithms, including Kalman filters and state estimation techniques.
Collaborate closely with mission teams to meet top-level mission goals and deliver robust navigation solutions.
Contribute to the planning, scheduling, and presentation of navigation strategies and findings.
Work independently and utilize scientific computing tools to support mission success in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements for the Sr Spacecraft Navigation Engineer : 8-12 years of relevant experience, with Masterโ€™s degree or PhD emphasizing Kalman filters and state estimation.
Proven experience in mission implementation of flight and ground navigation architectures.
Skilled in developing navigation algorithms or designing filters.
Proficiency in scientific computing and software development, including Python or similar tools.
Familiarity with navigation tools such as MONTE, FreeFlyer, or ODTK.
