Job Summary:
Deloitte is a leading professional services firm, and they are seeking a DevOps Engineer III to engage in high-visibility projects. The role involves leveraging SRE engineering practices and advanced programming skills to deliver operational solutions, improve system stability, and collaborate across teams to drive business value.
Responsibilities:
• Implementation of cost-effective platform operations, improving stability/resilience and automating optimizations to reduce maintenance effort and meet business KPIs.
• Follow SRE practices aligned to business goals and standards; leads requirement analysis, automation, integration, monitoring/dashboarding, and ongoing operational support.
• Configures, integrates, and maintains systems, helps solve complex problems through operational automations and predictive analytics. Works with the team to identify bottlenecks and optimizations, adhering to defined standards/SLAs.
• Develops and iterates operational solutions with customers and product teams; responds to incidents rapidly to minimize downtime and user impact.
• Delivers lean, supportable solutions in small increments; validates with evidence, learns fast, and adapts execution to navigate ambiguity and complexity.
• Collaborates with product, delivery, infrastructure, and security teams; partners with COTS vendors to validate operational capabilities; integrates diverse perspectives to drive decisions, synergy, and innovation.
• Applies intermediate SRE practices (Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD) to improve automation and quality; supports the product lifecycle from design through scaling with continuous improvement and learning.
• Learns domain/product/COTS context quickly; translates business and user needs into operational plans and automations; navigates product, UX, engineering, compliance, and security to drive feasible product value.
• Communicates SRE concepts clearly; influences with evidence-based trade-offs, evaluations, and research; connects technical decisions to business objectives through coherent narratives.
• Engages product engineering teams and customers as needed; builds trusted relationships and a co-creation culture; drives consensus across diverse viewpoints to deliver feasible solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline. Experience is the most relevant factor.
• 4+ years proven experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, C#, and Golang.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in implementing and administering monitoring solutions (Dynatrace, Grafana, Cloud Watch, Azure Monitor).
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in hosting highly available cloud native applications, using auto-scaling, self-resilient architectures, across various cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS and GCP.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues in production environment, with high accuracy, conducting root cause analysis, providing preventive measures based on RCA on multiple cloud providers.
• 2+ years of experience in defining SLO and SLI for cloud native applications, measuring, reporting and alerting using custom scripts or monitoring solutions.
• 1+ years of experience with AI/ML, GenAI, and specifically AIOps.
• Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and products you build.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
Preferred:
• Prior experience with cloud providers security practices, networking, cloud administration, database technologies and maintenance, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Prior software engineering experience with the understanding of Business Context Diagrams (BCD), sequence/activity/state/entity relationship/data flow diagrams, OOP/OOD, data structures, algorithms, and code instrumentations.
• Prior experience using methodologies & tools such as XP, Lean, SAFe, DevSecOps, CI/CD, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube, etc. to deliver high-quality products rapidly.
