Job description

You will serve as a Engineering Technician (Nuclear) in the Nuclear Engineering Training Branch (2301.3) under the Assistant Nuclear Engineering and Planning Manager (2301), Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department (2300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.Qualifications:GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience crafting and delivering training to the nuclear engineering community based on NAVSEA and private industry best practices.
- Experience planning, revising, modifying, and/or organizing technical training and training curriculums, such as nuclear theory, radiological controls, security, and safety.
- Experience applying operational knowledge of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
- Experience within nuclear training programs and coordinating their interfaces with other shipyard departments or divisions.
- Experience conducting studies, surveys, drills, and internal audits to evaluate findings and optimize training program objectives.
- Experience identifying and resolving problems.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience delivering training to the nuclear engineering community.
- Experience organizing instruction in nuclear subject matters, such as nuclear theory, radiological controls, security, and safety.
- Experience working with nuclear training programs and interfacing with other shipyard departments or divisions.
- Experience participating in studies, surveys, drills, or internal audits to evaluate training program proficiencies and efficiencies.
