Job description

Post Ranch Inn, the world renowned hotel in Big Sur, is looking for qualified candidates to apply for our Outdoor Nature Guide/Activities Provider position.
JOB OBJECTIVE: As a member of Post Ranch Inn, the Activities Provider will work directly with the Activities and Guest Services teams in ensuring a world class guest experience through providing unique nature experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handle guests with care and professionalism 
• Provide guided nature hikes, whale watching and stargazing sessions for on-property guests
• Provide other complimentary activities such as garden tours and room tours as needed.
• Be thoroughly familiar with the hotel operations, accommodations and amenities.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guest information and experiences  


MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Fill-in for other duties as assigned by Manager.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have 1+ years of experience with outdoor recreation and/or hospitality.
2. Must have a flexible schedule of availability and be reliable.
3. Background in environmental or animal studies preferred.
4. Ability to use repetitive hand and body motions for duration of session.
5. Ability to stand, walk and hike for extended periods of time.
6. Ability to set up our telescope which requires lifting up to 65 lbs.
7. Ability and willingness to support a variety of programming beyond nature walks. 
Pay rate for the Outdoor Nature Guide/Activities Provider position is $16.90 per hour, plus additional activity rates added.
