About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Mechanical Engineering (BSME), or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in natural gas utility design and coordination
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or the ability to become registered within 12 months, with willingness to obtain licenses in other states
  • Familiarity with DOT plans production and procedures
  • Experience in natural gas utility design and construction coordination related to DOT roadway projects preferred
  • Computer-aided drafting experience; MicroStation and/or Open Roads Designer experience is a plus
  • Practical experience with natural gas system design and/or construction
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in the utility industry

About the Role

As a Natural Gas Engineer, you will:

  • Perform distribution and transmission engineering for natural gas projects, including line routing, pipe and valve sizing, regulator stations, cathodic protection, railroad and stream crossings, plan and profile drawings, material selection, construction specifications, and all related calculations
  • Prepare, provide guidance, or assist in developing engineering deliverables for natural gas distribution and transmission projects
  • Design utility relocation plans for highway construction projects, including those funded by State DOTs
  • Maintain frequent client contact and take on supervisory responsibilities
