Job description

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Director, Sales- Natural Channel, to join our team. Reporting to the VP, Sales- Natural and Target, this role will lead and actively pursue growing the Boulder Canyon Brand at Sprouts Headquarters and other Natural Channel Key Accounts. This person will be a key contributor, collaborator, and thought leader on driving future growth and building our natural channel strategy. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, showing the ability to balance multiple priorities while remaining focused against the strategic channel initiatives.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and 7- 10+ years of proven sales experience within the consumer packaged goods industry, specifically in the natural channel, and 5+ years' experience utilizing syndicated data (SPINS, Nielsen, IRI); excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to analyze and evaluate several sources of data to develop actionable insights. Experience calling on Sprouts headquarters is required. Candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills.

Director, Sales- Natural Channel:

  • Achieve assigned sales targets through growing distribution, optimizing promotional plans and collaborating with retail partners.
  • Fully leverage Trade System (BluePlanner) to plan investments, forecast volume and build optimized trade programming, investment, and forecasts.
  • Achieve trade target with strong financial acumen and thought leadership skills on ways to optimize the customer level P&L.
  • Effectively lead brokerage partnerships while being the face of UTZ Brands with the retailer.
  • Lead preparation & completion of category reviews.
  • Strategic planning and time management skills to complete multiple priorities & initiatives.
  • Lead Distributor Trade Shows (KeHE, UNFI)
  • Own sales forecast by account to drive accurate financial and production planning.
  • Collaborate cross functionally on marketing, innovation, revenue management, production planning, and finance.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports and expense reports as required.
  • Work with management and fellow associates to ensure Food Safety programs are followed.
  • Report office, food or operational safety problems to their manager to resolve issues quickly.
  • Adhere to all policies, guidelines, and procedures, such as GMP, HACCP, and work and safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a focus in business, preferred.
  • 7-10+ years proven sales experience in a related position within the consumer products goods industry with direct account responsibility.
  • 5+ years' experience utilizing syndicated data (SPINS, Nielsen, IRI); excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to analyze and evaluate several sources of data to develop actionable insights.
  • Natural foods background required.
  • Trade spend experience required..
  • Experience managing brokers required and leading business direct strongly preferred.
  • UNFI / KeHE HQ experience required.
  • Strategic customer planning, forecasting and Operations planning across DTW to drive execution; managing Strategic Customer P&L reporting and analysis.
  • Experience auditing distributor deductions.
  • Strategic selling and negotiation experience.
