Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Tutoring Services department on the Oconee campus. This position will tutor students in one or more STEM disciplines (first- and second-year mathematics, general physics, general Chemistry, and/or accounting) offered by the University and will assist students, faculty, and staff with all services provided by UNG tutoring centers.
Responsibilities
  • Tutor students in one or more STEM disciplines: first- and second-year mathematics, general physics, general Chemistry, and/or accounting
  • Work on examples to illustrate appropriate use of concepts
  • Encourage students to use class notes and other resources to complete assignments
  • Demonstrate the use of calculators, both graphing and non-graphing, and relevant software for the discipline
  • Assist in the general operation of the tutoring center
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Assistant Director, or Tutoring Lab Coordinator of Tutoring Service

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
