JOB SUMMARY: We are currently looking for aSenior System AdministratorSoftware Release Mgr. to support the National Gallery of Art.The general focus of this position is Enterprise Software Release Management in a multiplatform (Microsoft Windows, Mac Operating Systems and Mobile Devices) environment. Candidate MUST be flexible and availablewhen after-hours remote and/or offsite support for emergencies is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Testnewversionsof operating system and endpoint softwareforcompatibility, performance optimization and deployment.
  • Manageallaspectsoftheend-to-end releaseprocess.
  • Develop and validate software release process/technical procedures.
  • Develop master images and deployment procedures.
  • Develop and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) checklists for software release processes.
  • Work with stakeholders for software deployment/updates.
  • Dealswithcommunication,preparation,andtrainingfornewreleases.
  • UpdateKnowledgeManagementSystem (KMS)Providesmanagementreportsonreleaseprogress.
  • Tracksoftwarelicensing.
  • Ensure security compliance to the supported applications and operating systems.
  • Perform daily system performance and security monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, endpoint systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Researching and testing new operating systems, office productivity enterprise software, and endpoint management technologies and tools to support tech refresh and lifecycle management of the supported technologies.
  • Provide support to end users and helpdesk Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff for solving complex problems.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Participate in the design, implementation and management of workload automation initiatives.
  • Adhere to firm Change Management, Problem Management policies and familiarity with ITIL or other formalized IT operations.
Required Qualifications:Required Skills:
  • Requires hands-on 5+ years of hands working knowledge in the following areas, in an environment with 1000+ Microsoft Windows and MacOS device.
  • Hands-on senior level experience with KnowledgeinMicrosoft, Mac OS
  • Hands-on senior level experience with technologies involved in software and operating system deployment in a large enterprise.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP and endpoint performance management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of endpoint security compliance and remediations
  • Stronganalyticalandtroubleshootingskills,includingtheabilitytoidentify,research,andresolvesimpletomoderatelycomplextechnicalsupportissuesindependently.
  • Must be familiar with the latest hardware platforms for endpoint computing.

  • MAC Genius experience.
  • Experience engineering support of Active Directory, DNS, and any additional Microsoft, JAMF and Ivanti
  • Experience with Active Directory including AD forest migration, remediation, and consolidation, as well as a strong foundation in other directory service technologies including GPO, DNS and DHCP
  • Hands on experience designing and configuring Microsoft Windows and MAC End User technology including Antivirus, patch management and other System Administration tools.
  • Experience developing detailed Windows and MAC Administrative standards, design, and implementation documentation.
  • Experience capacity planning, performance monitoring and maintenance.
  • Strong hands-on experience with endpoint security tools such as Microsoft Defender, McAfee and encryption technologies.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert(MCSE)
