To thrive in a national security role, you generally need a background in international relations, political science, or criminal justice, along with relevant security clearances. Familiarity with intelligence analysis tools, cybersecurity systems, and surveillance technologies is often required. Strong analytical thinking, discretion, and effective communication are vital soft skills for handling sensitive information and coordinating with diverse agencies.
