Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. Opening in 2026, COTA’s amusement park, COTALAND, is on over 30-acres featuring two first of their kind Roller Coasters and 30 rides.



Job Description:

As the Senior Network Engineer, you will partner with our team to work on several projects including upgrading our networks at our campus. In this position, you assess our current operations, identify weaknesses, and install the hardware and software necessary to fix them. This may include tasks as simple as installing firewalls or a VPN, or completely revising our wireless internet system. This is a Full-Time onsite role.


Essential Functions:

  • Support the IT infrastructure for major race events
  • Responding to emergency outages promptly
  • RJ-45 and Fiber Cabling and troubleshooting
  • Configuring and troubleshooting wireless technologies like Office WLAN, BYOD, Guest Sponsor Portal
  • Monitor Network equipment via SEIM
  • Monitoring, investigating and retiring equipment alarms
  • Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal and Written). Perform root cause analysis.
  • Should be willing to work extra hours / weekends during Major Events, i.e. Formula 1, NASCAR, MotoGP, Concerts and Track Events.



Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience supporting Cisco equipment. (Routing and switching); Cisco IOS, Nexus, WLC, Meraki
  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP R&S
  • Strong understanding of 802.11 radio frequency (RF) link performance, reliability, and quality
  • Network Automation with Ansible
  • Certificate based authentication
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Must maintain composer in from of clients and vendors
  • Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate and relate to all levels within and outside the organization; create and build positive and productive relationships.
  • Hires outstanding candidates; has sound judgment in identifying strengths and weaknesses of others.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
  • CCNA Certification
  • Several years of Network Engineering Experience
  • Comfortable working with LAN and WAN Network
  • Physical Demand & Work Environments:
  • Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
