Job description

Position Overview

Las Vegas Motor Speedway is seeking a motivated and energetic Event Management Intern to support the Events and Operations team in the planning and execution of the South Point 400 NASCAR race weekend, October 2–4, 2026.

This internship offers hands on experience working behind the scenes of a major motorsports event at one of the premier racing facilities in the country. Interns will gain exposure to large scale event operations including vendor coordination, fan engagement, entertainment programming, venue logistics, guest services, and race weekend execution.

This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to build real world experience in sports, entertainment, and live event management within a fast-paced professional environment.

Internship Dates:

  • Fall semester through November 2026
  • Required availability: October 2–4, 2026

Must be available for full event days, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with vendor coordination and on-site operational management
  • Support event logistics, administrative tasks, and operational planning
  • Assist with creating and updating fan zone maps, layouts, and activation areas
  • Help coordinate entertainment schedules, appearances, and race weekend programming
  • Support event setup, execution, and post event breakdown activities
  • Assist with communication between departments, vendors, partners, and event staff
  • Monitor guest experience and operational flow throughout the venue during event days
  • Participate in planning meetings and operational walkthroughs
  • Provide general event support as assigned by the Events and Operations team

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled college student pursuing a degree in:
    • Sports Management
    • Event Management
    • Hospitality
    • Communications
    • Business
    • Or a related field
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced event environment
  • Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and assist where needed
  • Interest in live events, sports, motorsports, or entertainment industries
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during event operations
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying event conditions
