Job description

Position Information
Job Title Security Officer II Nature of Work
This is responsible work ensuring the protection and safety of campus property, students
and personnel.Performs varied tasks such as securing campus buildings, patrolling campus grounds andassisting students and visitors in locating campus facilities and scheduled events. Workalso includes issuing parking permits and writing traffic/parking citations, identifying and
reporting vandalism, suspect activity or missing items and providing escort services for
students and faculty as needed. Direct supervision is received from an administrative
superior with work reviewed in the form of reports and compliance with campus security
policies and procedures.

Examples of Work Performed
Essential Duties:
1. Ensures the protection and safety of campus property, students, and personnel
2. Secures and patrols campus buildings and grounds using both a vehicle and foot patrol
3. Schedule, train, and lead other security personnel
4. Provide traffic control when needed
5. Provide crowd control at athletic events when needed
6. Identifies and reports vandalism, suspect activity or missing items
7. Prepares security reports and maintains security logs
8. Writing parking citations
9. Liaison between CSC Security and law enforcement agencies
10. Monitor campus security cameras as needed

Secondary Duties:
1. Student Security Contact
2. Providing escort services for students and employees as needed
3. Represent the Security Department in lieu of the Security Supervisor
4. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
One or more years of security experience or training in law enforcement
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of security experience or training in law enforcement
Physical Demands
The physical requirements for this position may include, but are not necessarily limited to, the ability to walk, sit, stand, bend and crouch and the ability to use a computer,telephone, keyboard, and/or various types of office equipment. Must be able to effectively communicate in verbal and written formats and satisfactorily perform the functions of this position. Ability to work in extreme indoor and outdoor work environment conditions is required.
