Posted 2 days ago

Job description

A warm, professional family in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, is seeking an experienced, career-minded nanny to provide exceptional care for their 9-month-old twin boys. The family is hoping to find a highly qualified nanny, ideally with Norland training or a comparable professional childcare background, who is passionate about infant development and thrives in a long-term role.

Both parents work full-time. Dad primarily works from home, and Mom occasionally works from home. The family has additional support available but is looking for a nanny who can confidently take the lead with the twins' daily care while working collaboratively with the parents or extended family.

The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. There will be flexibility to start early or stay later.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, proactive nanny who enjoys caring for infants, values structure and routine, and takes pride in supporting a family during these important early years.

Hire is immediate upon finding the right candidate. Local candidates only, please.

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Always ensuring the safety and well-being of the children
  • All aspects of full-charge childcare
  • Provide loving, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for twin infant boys.
  • Follow and maintain consistent feeding, nap, and daily routines.
  • Prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks from scratch, while accommodating a mild food allergy (eggs).
  • Foster early learning through age-appropriate activities, sensory play, reading, music, and outdoor experiences. Montessori knowledge would be a plus.
  • Support the twins' physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Maintain excellent hygiene practices and ensure a clean, organized nursery and children's spaces.
  • Keep children's laundry, bottles, toys, and feeding areas clean and organized.
  • Stay proactive by anticipating the children's needs and remaining two steps ahead throughout the day.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding milestones, schedules, and daily activities, and note any questions or concerns.

  • Strong understanding of infant development and age-appropriate milestones.
  • Familiarity with Montessori principles and child-led learning would be a plus
  • Calm, nurturing, organized, and highly dependable.
  • Confident managing two infants independently
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with parents.
  • Looking for a long-term position and interested in becoming a trusted part of the family's support system while maintaining professionalism.
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Takes pride in their work and is truly invested in the children’s well-being
  • Comfortable with a work-from-home parent(s)
  • Works intuitively

  • Significant professional infant experience, including experience caring for twins or multiple young children close in age
  • Norland training preferred or longevity as a career nanny
  • CPR certified
