Job Title: Housekeeper

Reports to: Facilities Manager

Job Status: Full-Time, non-exempt

Shift/Hours: 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM (Hours may vary)

Position Summary:

Clean and sterilize assigned areas daily to provide a safe and healthy environment for all the
population that uses our facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Trash & Waste Management: Collect all trash from classrooms, offices, respite rooms,
    adult day service areas, and common spaces; empty into outside dumpsters daily. Maintain
    dumpster area cleanliness and report any overflow or sanitation concerns.
  • Daily Floor Care:Sweep and mop all rooms, hallways, and common areas daily; ensure
    floors remain safe, dry, and free of debris.
  • Restroom Sanitation: Clean toilets, sinks, counters, and floors daily; restock paper
    products and soap dispensers; ensure restrooms meet infection control standards.
  • Surface Cleaning:Wipe down woodwork, doors, handles, and high touch surfaces as
    needed; clean spills on walls promptly.
  • Glass & Window Care:Clean interior glass, mirrors, and entryway windows as needed
    to maintain visibility and appearance.
  • Housekeeping Cart Maintenance:Stock housekeeping cart daily with required supplies;
    notify Maintenance of any inventory needs.
  • Equipment Use:Operate floor scrubber and other cleaning equipment as needed;
    maintain equipment cleanliness and report malfunctions.
  • Respond to Cleaning Calls: Respond promptly to cleanup calls, including spills, bodily
    fluids, and urgent sanitation needs in childcare, adult day services, respite, and clinic areas.
  • Vacuuming: Vacuum offices, rugs, and designated carpet areas daily.
  • Deep Cleaning: Perform scheduled deep cleaning of classrooms, adult day service rooms,
    respite areas, and common spaces.
  • Event Support Indaba Bandshell: Assist with setup and break-down for Indaba
    Bandshell events, including chairs, tables, waste stations, and post-event cleanup.
  • Childcare & Adult Day Care Support:Maintain sanitation in childcare classrooms, nap
    areas, changing stations, feeding areas, and adult day service rooms; support infection
    control procedures and ensure environments remain safe for all ages.
  • Supply Stocking: Restock tissues, gloves, wipes, and other sanitation supplies in
    childcare and adult day service areas.
  • Outdoor Area Cleaning:Maintain cleanliness of entryways, sidewalks, playground
    walkways, and outdoor seating areas.
  • Safety & Reporting:Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues
    promptly; follow all infection control, OSHA, and organizational safety protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED

Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to lift 50lbs, Sweep and mop floors and vacuum.

Willingness to work with others

Maintain housekeeping equipment

Report any safety issues
